The National flag was at half mast and two minutes silence observed at 9.30am today in memory of the people who were killed in last year's Tsunami.

Fifty three year old Lily Nona Galmangodaguruge lost her daughter, grand daughter, mother and sister in law last year this day

She says that she is not blaming the sea for what has happened, instead she is blessing the sea.

She is wailing with her neighbours T.M.Sumanawathy and Ratnakumari Nandasiri

Her husband is too old to work. She makes string hoppers and sell to earn a livelihood

She can't sleep in the nights and prays to keep her strong to look after her surviving grand children.

The fishermen remember their loved ones in silence on the one year anniversary of the Tsunami. The fishermen say that, last year this time they were running for their lives, and this year they are mourning for their loved ones

The fishermen say that they are not afraid of the sea, and they have no other choice

Eighteen year old Rohana Binuwella Withanage Nilanga lost his twelve year old sister

The fishermen say that, they used the fishing nets to drag the dead bodies to the shore
